Overview

The Langtang Valley Gosainkunda Lake Trek is a remarkable journey through Nepal's diverse landscapes, showcasing the most distinguished lakes, hills, mountains, and forests. In 2015, a devastating earthquake caused significant damage across Nepal, affecting both the economy and the geographical terrain. The Langtang region, a significant hub for tourism, was severely impacted, with avalanches and glacier outbursts causing widespread destruction. Despite the challenges, the resilient people of Langtang worked tirelessly to rebuild, and today, trekking in the Langtang region is once again accessible.

Walkabout International conducted a thorough assessment of the trail's current condition and deemed it safe, leading to the introduction of the Langtang Valley Gosainkunda Lake Trek package. The trek begins with a drive to Syaprubeshi, offering a comfortable trail until reaching Kyanjin Gompa. The later stages of the trek involve crossing Lauribina Pass and navigating challenging terrain towards Thulo Syapru. The majority of the trail is enveloped by lush green forests of rhododendron, pine, and bamboo, providing a chance to spot the elusive Red Panda. Stays in Langtang Valley Village and Kyanjin Gompa evoke a sense of mythology and spirituality.

Exploring the Gompas and climbing Kyanji Ri offer unique experiences—one steeped in mythology and the other offering panoramic mountain views. Trekking through Tamang Village leads to Gosainkunda via Thulo Syapru and Lauribina Pass. The trek rewards trekkers with captivating views of Gaurishankar, the Annapurna Himalayan range, Manaslu range, Langtang range, and some Tibetan Peaks. The highlight is the heavenly Gosainkunda Lake, a rewarding sight after a challenging trek. In the later stages of the journey, trekkers traverse through lush green forests, terraced farmlands, and abundant water resources.

Book the Langtang Trekking package with Walkabout International, and embark on a single trip that encompasses the beauty of Chisapani, Gosainkunda, and Langtang Valley. Our competitively priced packages are tailored for adventure enthusiasts, promising quality service and unmatched hospitality.
