Overview

The Goddess of Harvest, "Annapurna," holds profound significance for farmers, particularly in western Nepal, where for centuries, farmers have fervently prayed to this deity for a fruitful harvest. The legend and trust associated with the world's tenth tallest mountain, Mt. Annapurna, are deeply ingrained in the culture of the region. Embarking on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek to reach its base requires a trekking journey spanning at least 11-15 hours on foot.

For those seeking a shorter trek in the Annapurna region, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek emerges as an ideal choice. Known as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek or Annapurna View Trek, this trek offers a perfect blend of cultural experiences, customs, diverse forests, wildlife, nature, and the grandeur of the Himalayas, all within a shorter timeframe. Trekkers follow the trail of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek until Poon Hill and Tadapani. From this point, trekkers can descend directly to Tikhedhunga for a bus ride to Pokhara, or they can choose to include the charming Gurung Village of Ghandruk in their itinerary.

Considered one of the most enchanting short trekking routes globally, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek combines the vibrant features of Lake City Pokhara with the wilderness of the trail, adorned with rhododendron forests and multiethnic villages inhabited by Gurung, Rai, Magar, Chhetris, Brahmin, and Dalits. Trekkers get an authentic experience of rural Nepal, witnessing diverse communities firsthand. The trail offers over 20 different mountain vistas, ensuring a comfortable walking experience that dispels mental fatigue and monotony from everyday life. The breathtaking view of the early sunrise from the summit of Poon Hill is a truly astounding phenomenon of Mother Nature.

Embark on the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Walkabout International, and let's explore the magnificent Poon Hill Circuit together. This trek serves as a wonderful solution for those on a quest to discover a comfortable Himalayan view amidst a captivating walking trail. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring that our valued customers encounter no problems and thoroughly enjoy the attractions along the way.
